Altman of Florence to Replace Park of Thomasville on National All-Star Team

Florence's Kent Altman will now be an All-Star, replacing Michael Park of Thomasville.

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Coastal Plain League announced today that Florence’s Kent Altman, a 6-0, 185-pound right-handed pitcher from Coastal Carolina, will be replacing fellow right-hander Michael Park of Thomasville and Mississippi on the National All-Star Team due to personal reasons.



Altman is currently 4-0 with a 0.31 ERA through six appearances, including four starts. He has pitched 29 innings, given up just four runs, one earned, on 19 hits, while walking nine and striking out 20.



The Coastal Plain League is the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league, now in its twelfth season. Featuring 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, the CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with wooden bats during the summer months. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts.
