Edenton’s Swanson To Replace Forest City’s Skinner On American All-Star Team

The Coastal Plain League announced today that Edenton outfielder Billy Swanson, a junior at Cal State Northridge, will be replacing fellow outfielder Will Skinner of Forest City and on the American All-Star Team due to an injury.

Swanson is currently batting .325 on the summer with 37 hits, including seven doubles, as well as eight RBIs and 16 runs scored. Furthermore, he has 44 total bases and is 8-for-9 in stolen bases.

The Coastal Plain League is the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league, now in its 13th season. Featuring 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, the CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with wooden bats during the summer months. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts.
