Epley of Wilmington to Replace Forsythe of Thomasville on American Team

Wilmington's Kolby Epley will replace Blake Forsythe in the All-Star Game.

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Coastal Plain League announced today that Wilmington’s Kolby Epley, a freshman from College of Charleston, will be replacing fellow catcher Blake Forsythe of Thomasville and Tennessee on the American All-Star Team due to an injury.



Epley is currently batting .272 through 35 games played. He features 31 hits, including seven doubles and two triples, while scoring 17 runs and driving in 11 RBIs. He also has 42 total bases to go with a .368 slugging percentage, a .356 on-base percentage and 14 walks.



The Coastal Plain League is the nation?s hottest summer collegiate baseball league, now in its twelfth season. Featuring 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, the CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with wooden bats during the summer months. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts.
